Meet The Team

Steph Gomes

I started my journey in early education straight after high school where I began as a trainee studying my Certificate III in Education and Care Services. The next 14 years were spent working in a range of full time and part time capacities in several preschool and long day care environments as well as in-home settings.

My longstanding aspiration to open my own centre was supported by my husband and fuelled by my two daughters. The unwavering support I had from family and close friends is the reason I managed to complete my Bachelor of Education whilst also opening and running Lilybelle EEC.

Early childhood education is not only a crucial developmental stage, it establishes the foundations for the rest of our lives. For this reason, I believe in creating an environment where families feel valued and respected so they feel comfortable contributing to their child’s education. Collaborative relationships between families and educators lead to meeting more favourable learning outcomes and fostering a love of learning.

My aim is to run a service where educators feel supported and valued as professionals and colleagues. I believe in creating a positive organisational culture where professional learning is encouraged and developed to ensure each educators knowledge is aligned to current thinking within the early childhood field. I hope to build a team of educators who advocate for the provision of quality early years education and understand that within play there are a myriad of learning opportunities available.

Whitney Houston said it best when she sang “I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way”

My passion for Early Childhood Education stems from my own children and my desire to help build a childcare service where children are given the tools and skills to become life long learners.

Whilst working on getting Lilybelle open for families I have also been working towards my qualification in Early Education.

My personal vision for Lilybelle is that it is recognised as centre where families feel instantly at home and feel secure in knowing their child is safe, well cared for, nurtured and loved.

Loving and nurturing the children is my passion.

Being a great role model is one of the most important roles I play.

The way I speak to the children, my body language, my enthusiasm and silliness are mirrored by the children.

It is an honour to have this privilege and I never take that for granted.

When a child smiles, I smile, and that is the best feeling!!!!

Sabina Keppel

Hello, I'm Sabina. I believe working in early childhood is both a blessing and a privilege. I am blessed to have developed close relationships with children, to help them become kind, empathetic and creative people. I believe it is my privelage to engage with children every day, making memories, building long lasting relationships, and developing the tools for them to become the future problem solvers that our world needs.

I see it is my role to respond to your children's every need and want, making them empowered to direct their own learning and shape our program. I structure the learning environment to engage your children's creativity and imagination for them to investigate, experiment and learn how to see various solutions to challenges.

I believe the core of what I do stems from working with families being every child's first teacher. I value building relationships both with families and your child. By finding out what makes your child unique and supporting your families goals in an ongoing reciprocal partnership.

My teaching philosophy is an extension of my own professional and personal experiences of being a mother, a primary school teacher, a mentor and a team leader. I see my teaching philosophy as something that is ever changing and responsive to being flexible and adaptable to what the day presents!

A small part of a poem that I feel defines me as an educator is 'I see each new accomplishment, and help them grow and learn. I understand their language, and I listen with concern.

They come to me for comfort, and I kiss away their tears. They proudly show their work to me and I give the loudest cheers.'

I have been working with children for seven years now and I feel as though the early years learning is such an important part of  child's life and I feel so honored to be part of, the start of each child's learning journey.

A child can teach an adult three be happy for no reason. To always be busy with something. And to know how to demand with all his might that which he desires. ~Paulo Coelho

Hi I'm Megan, I currently have my cert 3 in childcare and have been working with children for almost 3 years now.
Like most senior high school students I didn't have any idea what I wanted to do after leaving school so I decided to further my education by going to TAFE while I tried making up my mind on what I would like to do career wise.

My interest in working with children started after I had just completed my cert 3 in aged care and decided I wanted to see what it was like to work on the other side of the spectrum.
I went back to study my cert 3 in childcare and decided this is the path I wanted to take.
Being there for every smile, every laugh, every achievement and every tear is what makes this career so rewarding.

Stacie Singh

Hi, I’m Stacie. I currently hold my Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and am due to receive my diploma in June 2018. I have been in the industry going on to 8 years now and even after 8 years, I enjoy what I do so much.

My passion came from studying Exploring Early Childhood in years 11 and 12 and since then, I knew I wanted to work with children. I believe a child’s education is the most valuable thing in the world "Knowledge is power" and I recognise that the earlier it begins, the better it is for the child. To me, it is an amazing feeling to see or hear a child apply the skills that you have taught them and to see the excitement on their face. I enjoy every aspect of teaching and have realised over the years that children teach us as much as we teach them.

I believe the first 5 years of a child’s life is the most important and I am glad that I am able to make a difference in children’s lives by educating them and watching them grow.

Courtney  Pennell

Hello, I'm Courtney. On completion of my secondary studies last year I have now started my Cert lll in Early Childhood Education and Care in which I am thoroughly enjoying.

Working with children is my passion and an honour that fills me with joy everyday when I see them happy it is instantly reciprocated.

They teach me as much as I teach them and remind me how important the first five years of a childs life truly are. Teaching a child the fundamental skills for future development and constantly seeing improvement and growth within the child is the most rewarding feeling.

Mary Tawfik

My passion for Early Childhood began from a very young age.

I came into this field determined to make a difference to each child.

I used to run a family day care for almost 2 years and coming into Lilybelle childcare has been a great opportunity for me to get to know more children and make a difference in their life’s. It puts a smile on my face when seeing children having fun in their play.

I do believe in children learning through their play. The first five years is the most crucial time in a child’s life and I am glad that I can be a part of that and see them grow.

Hello, My name is Michelle and I have been working in the child care industry for almost 5 years. I really enjoy what I do and feel lucky to be able to combine my passion for teaching children and cooking / baking.

When children eat nutritious meals it helps to give them the energy, confidence and concentration they need to learn, play and enjoy their day. I love to use the herbs from our garden that are harvested by the children and use these in the meals I prepare.

I believe it gives them a sense of pride to see me using the herbs they grow in our meals and I love that I am able to be provide them with healthy and delicious meals.
