OUR STORY

Ana and Steph have known each other for almost their whole lives as their families migrated to Australia from Portugal together. Their families have been entwined ever since and it is this history that is the foundation of the heart of Lilybelle- exuding bright beginnings and strong, secure relationships. From then, Ana and Steph have had their own families and alongside this, have developed a love and passion for children's development and early childhood education, while understanding the value of creating a home away from home.

Family is a cornerstone value of Lilybelle, and with that comes the recognising of the importance of families as the primary influence in a child’s life. We strive to continually develop and maintain collaborative and open partnerships with all families.

Our Values

We value play as a medium for all aspects of development to encourage each child's natural curiosity and intrinsic passion for learning.

We value family and recognise that families are a child's first and most influential teachers. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming environment where all children and families are respected and actively encouraged to collaborate with our educators about curriculum decisions in order to ensure that learning experiences are meaningful.

We value each child's individuality, cultural background and their development of becoming who they wish to be.

Our Philosophy

At Lilybelle Early Education Centre we recognise families as children's first and most influential teachers. We have a commitment to provide a quality service which promotes an approach of mutual respect, effective collaboration and support between educators, children, families and management. We aspire to build genuine partnerships where each other's knowledge is respected and trusted to encourage open communication and shared decision making.

Families are the bridge between home and the centre. Each individual family is valued for their traditions, cultural heritage and beliefs. Families are encouraged to be involved in the service and share their interests, traditions and customs.

Children are competent, capable and unique individuals who have the right to learn through their play. We believe play should be spontaneous, hands-on, exciting and challenging. By providing opportunities for children to discover, create, explore, problem solve and experiment we are supporting each child to reach their full potential whilst encouraging a love of learning.

At Lilybelle we want children to feel safe, respected, supported and valued so they confidently develop independence and social skills that are essential to school preparedness. We encourage relationships built on kindness, thoughtfulness, inclusivity and honesty. We support children to develop resilience and build the necessary skills to meet daily challenges.

Educators and Programme

Our objective is to ensure the guiding principles of the National Quality Standards (NQS) direct the delivery of our early childhood education curriculum. Educators at Lilybelle EEC observe children's learning so they can effectively extend their thinking and intentionally introduce them to new experiences which are scaffolded from their ideas. Our educators are treasured for their values, knowledge and their commitment to our Lilybelle families.

Learning Environment

Using the NQS as our guide the best practice, we are committed to supporting a sustainable environment and the continuous improvement of our service. We believe a sense of wonder, belonging to and love of our natural environment is critical for young children to develop respectful attitudes towards protecting all living things and being involved in the maintaining of a sustainable environment
